Job Description: For a Local Bank in UAE.
Arab national with Fluent English.
Head of Legal : Provides professional legal and contract related support services aimed at safeguarding the interests of the Bank by ensuring the legality of all transactions. This includes rendering professional advice, drafting and interpreting contracts, procedures and internal regulations and handling court cases and claims directly or through outside law firms. Ensures the provision of translation service to the Bank.
Carries out work in accordance with general directives, Bank policies and local and international laws. Work accomplishments are subject to general review by management. The incumbent's advice or recommendations can result in substantial loss or gain and can reflect on the Bank’s image and management. Although incumbent actions are subject to general review, in many instances he has to take full responsibility for handling unforeseen situations effectively in the best interest of the Bank and has to use his extensive experience and legal talent to achieve this end. During discussions and negotiations, the incumbent may have to make quick decisions. Before courts and arbitrators, errors once committed will have an impact that cannot be reversed. Similarly, interpretation of legal provisions of the law, contracts, etc. can lead to substantial losses or gains.
Candidate will be reporting directly to CEO, Chairman & Board members



Required Qualifications:
He must have Master degree in Law from a recognized University and
having a minimum of 10 years experience in the provision of legal counsel
including 5 years in the banking sector.


Skills:
Proficiency in English- written and spoken and excellent Communication skills.
